England Vs West Indies Dream11 Prediction
International cricket makes its long-awaited return as England welcomes West Indies for this 3 match Test Series. The Wisden Trophy finally switched hands after a near decade long English stronghold after the Windies won the 2019 edition 2-1 to wrestle back the title. The English will be quite confident of regaining it, however, having won every test series against the visitors on home soil in this millennium. Joe Root is unavailable for this match for England, while the likes of Shimron Hetmyer and Darren Bravo have pulled out of the squad due to health concerns for the Windies.
Pitch and Weather Report – The pitch at the Rose Bowl has seen just 3 Test matches, with the most recent one being in 2018 when England opted to bat first and won. Neither team managed to get to 300, and while the pitch aided spinners and quicks, Moeen Ali stole the show for England with 9 wickets. Day 1 is expected to be a cloudy one with temperatures around 21 degrees Celsius with 62% precipitation and wind speeds of 18 km/h. While showers are forecasted to an extent for Day 2 as well, no rain is forecasted for the final 3 days.

England Vs West Indies Dream11 Best Picks
Ben Stokes: It’s hard to look past Stokes for captaincy here. He’s scored 577 runs at an average of 41.2 in his last 8 tests while also picking up 12 wickets. His fabulous performances with bat and ball earned him the player of the series in the tests against South Africa, as he finished 3rd for runs and tied for 5th for wickets.
Shai Hope: Hope definitely has had an underwhelming test career to date, with an average of just 27.23 but England are one of the few teams he has had success against, especially in England. He was the top scorer in the 2017 test series with 375 runs, more than 70 runs clear of 2nd place with 2 centuries and a half-century in 6 innings.
Jason Holder: Holder has put in some fine performances with both bat and ball in his recent test matches. He’s scored 344 runs which includes a double century against England, at an average of 49.14 while also picking up 20 wickets in his last 5 tests.
Ollie Pope: Ollie Pope was excellent in the test series against South Africa, scoring 266 runs in 5 innings at an average of 88.66 with a century and two half-centuries. He also struck two half-centuries in 3 innings leading up to the Sri Lanka tour which ended up being postponed.
Jofra Archer: Archer picked up 6 wickets in the solitary test that he played against South Africa. While he did struggle a bit in the test series in New Zealand, it’s been a different story on home soil, having racked up 22 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 20.27.
Kemar Roach: Roach will lead the attack for the visitors, and he has been on fire with the ball, with 27 wickets in his last 6 tests. He has had plenty of success against England as well, with 29 wickets his last 6 tests against them.
England Vs West Indies Dream11 Low Budget Best Picks
John Campbell (8 CR.): Campbell has put in some decent performances in his short test career so far. He had 3 40+ scores against England in the Test series last year and finally notched up his first half-century against Afghanistan later that year.
Alzarri Joseph (8.5 CR): Joseph was wreaking havoc before the lockdown against Sri Lanka, with 10 wickets in 3 ODIs and he also picked up 3 wickets and struck a half-century in an FC match after that. He also looked very impressive in the warm-up games with 8 wickets in 3 innings. Joseph also had a solid outing in the tests against England last year, ranking 3rd in the series for wickets with 10 at an average of 23.80.
Rory Burns (8.5 CR.): Burns is expected to return to the lineup after his injury and the opener has put in some brilliant performances in his last few test matches, with a century and two half-centuries against New Zealand and South Africa.
Joe Denly (8.5 CR.): Denly is a decent pick at this price. He’s seen a drop off in his form, as after scoring half-centuries in 4 successive tests, he only has 1 in his last 5. If he can regain some of that form that he displayed earlier, he can be a great pick at this price.
Dominic Sibley (8.5 CR.): Sibley was England’s top scorer in the tests against South Africa and presents excellent value at this price. He finished with 324 runs with the highlight being a fabulous knock of 133*. He also struck two centuries in the England Lions tour of Australia and even managed to pick up a wicket.
Shannon Gabriel (8.5 CR.): Shannon Gabriel has returned from his injury lay off and looked impressive in the warmup games with 8 wickets in 3 innings, just like Joseph. Gabriel is an experienced campaigner in this Windies side with 133 wickets at an average of 30.63 and is a good pick at this price.
England Vs West Indies Dream11 Grand Captaincy Picks
James Anderson – The veteran seamer has been leading the potent English pace unit for the better part of a decade and would be raring to go against the West Indies. Currently, Anderson is the leading wicket-taker for England in Test cricket with 584 wickets in 151 matches and ranks fourth in the list of highest wicket-takers of all time. The pacer was instrumental in England’s 189-run victory against South Africa earlier this year, bagging seven wickets in the match, which was also England’s last match in the longest format before the hiatus. Anderson’s ability to swing the ball both ways will be a constant threat to the visitors’ youthful batting lineup.
Kemar Roach – Roach is the most experienced bowler in the West Indies squad, having represented the Caribbean nation in 56 Tests and has picked up 193 wickets at an average of 27.13. When England visited West Indies in 2019, Roach was excellent with the ball, scalping 18 wickets in three Tests. Though the Barbadian wasn’t in his best form in the West Indies intrasquad warmup game between Holder XI and Brathwaite XI, he should be among the top picks in your Dream11 team owing to his experience and success against England.
Ben Stokes – With regular captain Joe Root opting to sit out of the first match as he awaits the birth of his second child, all-rounder Ben Stokes will lead the hosts in the first Test. The Englishman has been in phenomenal form with both bat and ball since winning the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. Stokes currently occupies the second spot in ICC’s Test All-Rounder rankings, just behind West Indies skipper Jason Holder. The skilled all-rounder has amassed 4804 runs in 63 Test matches and also picked up 147 wickets at an average of 32.68. Stokes will be a key contributor with both the bat and the ball if England are to come out on top against the Windies.
